Western Sectional Society

The event is being organized by Washington State University, Molecular Plant Sciences Program.

Dates: Friday April 30, to Sunday, May 2, 2010 (see schedule) (see Final Abstract Book)

Registration Fee: $60 includes Friday banquet, Saturday Luncheon, Sunday Breakfast, and coffee breaks; $40 for graduate and undergraduate attendees accompanied by a faculty member. Late or onsite registration fee $70.

Conference Venue:

  • Lectures in Washington State University Smith Center for Undergraduate Eduction (CUE) Room 203
  • Banquet, Luncheon and Poster sessions in the Compton Union Building (CUB) Banquet Hall and Butch's Den

Why Attend?  Come put your West Regional ASPB (W-ASPB) dues to work for you!

  • Has the slow economy has prevented you from attending conferences? 
    TheW-ASPB meeting is an inexpensive alternative supplemented by regional ASPB dues and local sponsors.  Travel grants will be available.
  • Have you ever noticed that it is difficult to find and meet scientists at large conferences? 
    A local venue offers the perfect opportunity to meet prestigous scientists in a more intimate environment.  This is the perfect opportunity to meet local scientists and to forge new collaborations. 
  • Do you have a postdoctoral fellow or senior graduate student with a good story to tell? 
    Provide them with an opportunity to make a presentation of their research in a congenial environment.
  • Do you wish you could afford to take a promising undergraduate student to a conference?
    This meeting is an excellent chance to pile your lab into a car and attend a conference with high quality talks.  Why not take your lab to a conference?
  • Washington State University has a large faculty with a strong emphasis on plant science.
