ASPB Members Research Findings on Rice Could Save Millions from Hunger

ASPB Committee on Public Affairs Chair Pamela Ronald, fellow ASPB members Keong Xu, Takeshi Fukao, Abdelbagi Ismael, and Julia Bailey-Serres and colleagues have published research findings in Nature that identify in rice a gene tolerant to water submergence. These findings offer to reduce rice crop losses and resulting hunger for millions of people throughout the world. Following are URLs for a news release from UC Davis and for a News and Views commentary and a letter published in Nature on the research.
