THANK YOU to
everyone who has supported the ASPB Education Foundation. Your support helps
the Foundation create far-reaching programs to increase the public's knowledge
of the importance of plants and to bring more plant biology programs to K-12
schools.
Over the past
year the ASPB Education Foundation completed production of its documentary film
History's Harvest: Where Food Comes From and distribution to K-12
schools and broadcast TV has begun. Curriculum materials to support the film
are being developed. The Foundation also supported a variety of projects including:
the publication of a new edition of the textbook Plants, Genes and Crop Biotechnology;
distribution of a video on Genetically Modified Crops and Foods which is currently
available to ASPB members; the translation of the brochure Foods from Genetically
Modified Crops into several languages; exhibiting at career fairs and trade
shows to talk to students and teachers about the importance of plant biology;
and more.
The work and
success of the Foundation are possible only through the combined support of
hundreds of generous donors, who we gratefully acknowledge here.
We have made every effort
to list the names of all our contributors and we apologize for any oversights
that may have occurred. For questions or corrections please contact the ASPB
Education Foundation at 301-251-0560, ext. 116 or by e-mail to katie@aspb.org.
