Genomics Digital Lab (GDL) Project

GDL was created in conjunction with ASPB member and GAP winner David Salt's Genomics eXplorer, an interactive walk-through plant cell museum exhibit. GDL, a first place winner in the NSF 2008 Science & Engineering Visualization Challenge, offers a series of curriculum-aligned and integrated games, modules, and interactive simulations covering an array of topics in biology. GDL is a continually expanding interactive on-line environment where users experience the world of biology through discovery-based learning.

We have provided free online versions of the GDL chloroplast, mitochondria and nucleus. All versions are provided without guarantee with no technical support.

The Chloroplast
The Mitochondrion
The Nucleus

For further information on the expanding GDL project and an opportunity to purchase the current commercial educational version of GDL please visit the Genomics Digital Lab site

The Genomics eXplorer version of GDL was developed by Thomas Sors, Jon Bricker and David E Salt of Purdue University and produced by vive Technologies Inc. in an ASPB Education Foundation sponsored project. The use of the Genomics eXplorer version of GDL is restricted to non-commercial use only.
